But this year, as demonstrations across the Middle East have actually pushed up the price of oil, the issue of finding alternative sources of fuel has entered sharp focus.
In a region that has one of the greatest carbon footprints in the world, one company is making the most of the growing pressure to find alternatives to oil. It's established the Middle East's first scheme to recycle cooking oil into . It's showing lucrative too, currently their client-list includes McDonald's.
